The Journey of UIOS
The Urban Institute of Open Schooling (UIOS) was founded with a singular vision: to break down barriers to education. Recognizing that traditional schooling models do not work for everyone, we established an institution that brings quality, recognized education directly to the learner, regardless of their background or geographical location.
Foundation & Inception
UIOS was officially established by a group of visionary educators. The first center was opened in a small facility, offering basic secondary education programs to students who had to drop out of mainstream schools.
Introduction of Vocational Courses
Realizing the need for practical skills in the job market, UIOS expanded its curriculum to include vocational training and skill development programs, empowering youth with employable skills.
Digital Transformation
UIOS launched its first online student portal, making distance learning truly accessible. Students could now access study materials, submit assignments, and check results from anywhere in the country.
National Recognition
The institute achieved a major milestone by receiving accreditations that recognized UIOS certificates nationwide, opening doors for higher education and government employment for our alumni.
